Text mining supports decision making in Science, Technology & Innovation (ST&I) policy & management – e.g., competitive technical intelligence, R&D management, and research evaluation. Expanding and novel data bring both opportunities and challenges. Researchers, analysts, and decision makers need to track ST&I dynamics together with rapidly evolving economic & societal factors, validating the necessity of evidence-based foresight.
- “text analytics” is advancing sharply now as “intelligent bibliometrics” develops – i.e., applying Artificial Intelligence to analyses of ST&I text resources
- “evidence-based foresight” – increasing availability of multiple “large data” resources invites novel, powerful new forecasting capabilities

Novel Digital Information Sources
– e.g., optimization/integration of “360 degree view”, i.e. science, economic, political, social domains
Processing Methods
-e.g., accelerate and optimize methods involving human-expertise (e.g. Delphi)

Pre-view Abstracts accepted January 1 –September 1, 2023 e-mail extended abstracts to dchiavetta@searchtech.com with subject “ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Springer Nature”
- While an abstract is not required, please feel free to submit an extended abstract prior to submitting a manuscript. We would then be happy to provide early feedback as to the fit of your topic to this edition before your manuscript is completed.
Manuscripts accepted January 1 –November 1, 2023 e-mail manuscripts to dchiavetta@searchtech.com with subject “MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION: Springer Nature”
- While the volume does not have a set requirement, we expect completed manuscripts to consist of approximately 8,000 words + considerable visual material. Intent to submit manuscripts considerably shorter or longer would best submit a pre-view abstract for feedback.
Peer review process February 1 – December 1, 2023
Revised manuscript submission deadline December 30, 2023
