Import Filters

VantagePoint operates by building a relational database from records in a text file.Import filter files (end in a “.conf” extension for “configuration” file) translate the text data into a database format so it can be used in the software. For each database and format, there is a complex set of delimiters describing how to recognize the beginning and ending of each record and all its fields. The import filter (or “configuration” file) for a database contains the list of fields and respective delimiters that it expects to find in that database. The VantagePoint users manual has detailed instructions on creating new configuration files. However, this site is a place to share import filters that have already been written.
